The centurion that met Jesus on his way to Capernaum was a man who had confidence in the integrity of his own words. When Jesus told him He would come and heal his servant, he responded by saying, “Lord…only say a word and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man subject to authority [of a higher rank], with soldiers subject to me; and I say to one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes..” Matt.8:9
The Bible says, “When Jesus heard this, He was amazed and said to those who were following Him, “I tell you truthfully, I have not found such great faith [as this] with anyone in Israel.” Matt.8:10
When you have grown to the point in your spiritual life where you have confidence in the integrity of your own words, you won’t have any difficulty believing that God’s Word is Good, Powerful and True.
When you do what you say, you can easily believe God will do what He says too.
