While we were growing up, we prayed some prayers that sounded powerful, but looking back now from my knowledge of scriptures they weren’t powerful and did not go pass our ceiling. We were on fire for God but lacked knowledge of the New Testament scriptures.
For example, when leading prayers, it sounds spiritual to say, “Lord, visit us as we are gathered here today” or “Lord if your presence will not go with us, let us not go any further” or “Take not your Holy Spirit from me”. We even cry or squeeze face so that heaven can answer quickly, but these prayers are Old Covenant prayers and you can’t use an Old method to run a New system. In the New Covenant, God is no more a Visitor neither is His abiding presence far away from us nor does He give and take His Spirit from those who are born again. The Holy Spirit is now a permanent Residence in those who are born of God. We are now the Ark of Covenant in whom God dwells.
Jesus confirms in John 14:16 about the Holy Spirit saying, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will NEVER LEAVE YOU.” So if Jesus says “He Will Never leave you”, who then is lying to you?
Also, in Matthew 28:20 Jesus said,
“…And surely, I am with you ALWAYS to the very end of the age.” Nothing can separate us again from Christ, from the day we became born again till Jesus comes back.
We wonder why some prayers we pray in Church or home are not answered. It’s simply because we are praying amiss. The Bible says, “You ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly…” James 4:3
Colossians 2:9-10 says, “For in Christ all the fullness of God lives in a human form and in Him YOU have been made complete” God is not far away anymore, He lives in us now and forever. The veil that separated Man and God has been removed. God cannot take His Spirit from you even when your body or mind commits sin! His gifts and calling are without repentance.
Ignorance is what is running the New Covenant Church powerless not sin, for sin has been dealt win on the cross. The Bible says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the Law but under Grace” Romans 6:14
